It seems 2018 has brought about significant change for me. I have spent the last 10 years working as a self-employed cartographer and designer, but I am now in a new role as Principal Designer at City ID, focused on cartographic research and development. They develop unique design, information and wayfinding solutions to integrate people, movement and places. Furthermore, as urbanists, planners and designers, they have a global reputation for improving the legibility and experience of cities and transport systems—having developed the ‘legible cities’ concept over 20 years ago.
I have collaborated with them many times over the years, working on unique mapping solutions for pedestrian and transport-focused wayfinding schemes around the UK and abroad. It’s an area of work that is of particular interest to me and we will be developing some ground-breaking work in the UK and USA in 2018. As this will be a full-time role, I will not be able to continue to offer services under my trading persona of Yellowfields. Of course, I would still be pleased to discuss new opportunities that may be fulfilled in my new role, so don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Many thanks for the work and support!
