The focus of my work is understanding complexity, modelling, simulation, spatial design, geo-visualisation and mapping — all forms of spatial problem solving and framing. This involves pulling together the latest research in urban form, place-making, digital landscapes, communicative environments and human behaviour. Research, analysis and processes are as important as creative design in reaching the right solution.
Projects become realised in many forms. In the field of wayfinding and urban landscapes this may be through the analysis and visual representation of movement patterns, transport networks, topography, urban morphology, information planning, product design and end-user testing and evaluation. Wayfinding is far more than just signs! The tools and techniques are as applicable in private architectural spaces, rural or digital environments.
