Interconnect Birmingham

Interconnect is a partnership project, led by Centro, focused on improving the ‘interface’ between people, places and transport systems. The project promotes a vision of a world class movement network with infrastructure and passenger facilities designed to create welcoming places supported by legible and intuitive systems. Piloted in Birmingham, it is anticipated the system will be rolled out across West Midlands.

Working with leading urbanists and wayfinding practitioners, City ID, Jason was engaged to assist them primarily with the design and production of the cartography used for pedestrian movement across the city. Over 10km² was mapped, based upon aerial photography, to create an extensive, royalty-free base that could also be applied to a variety of other uses. He also provided other design and illustrative input in to other facets of this wide-ranging project.
