Shauna Chapman FRSA

An accomplished chef.Shauna is an accomplished chef as well as running a British eco-ethical clothing business! Seafood… one of the joys of living in the South West!

A Canadian by birth, Shauna’s original education and training was in art and art history. She subsequently spent several years working in the signing industry, in Canada and here. Shauna moved to the UK in 1995.

Shauna’s role is an advisory one, and one that is concerned with the direction and managements of projects. She has a particular interest in the social and sustainable credibility and relevance of projects, bringing a grounded and focused approach in the delivery of solutions. In this digital age she is acutely aware of the importance of traditional skills and hands-on vocations.

Shauna is the founding partner in the British eco-ethical clothing label, Quail. She believes in British manufacturing and the innovation of artisan clothing. In recognition of her entrepreneurial skills in the fashion industry and her work to address ethical and environmental concerns in the manufacturing process, Shauna was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society for the engagement of Arts (FRSA) in 2009.

Shauna describes herself as a portfolio worker. In addition to operating her traditional clothing and manufacturing business, she is also a classically-trained chef — catering to private parties engaged in fund-raising and charitable activities.

“Not knowing where to begin is a common form of paralysis. Begin anywhere.”
