Engaged by Derby City Council (DCC), Yellowfields has designed and produced the mapping for four new wayfinding signs. The signs are located close to the River Derwent and are part of a scheme to promote walking and cycling along the riverside as it passes through the centre of Derby, enhancing the links and connectivity.
“Yellowfields went beyond our expectations to ensure that the project was delivered to our requirements. We were kept fully informed throughout the design process. Yellowfields completed the project on time and to budget. We highly recommend Yellowfields design services.”
—Richard Lawrence, Derby City Council
The project included the assessment and establishment of appropriate map rotations to both support the standard heads-up approach and improve connectivity. Selected 3D illustrations of particular landmarks were also created. The two extracts shown here are at a much reduced scale.
The maps were reproduced in vitreous enamel and mounted in to signs by Wood & Wood.
